Interim Management
In some circumstances, it may be desirable or necessary to intensify the restructuring activity in an organization.  Internal leadership, experienced in crisis situations, with full authority to develop and implement a turnaround plan can be a very effective means of accelerating an organizational transition.  Retaining a turnaround consultant as the senior operating executive or chief restructuring officer creates an environment conducive to rapid change unencumbered by entrenched thinking and practices.  More over, change frequently requires difficult choices and unpopular decisions.  The use of an interim executive to move through these decisions and then move on, allows new, permanent leadership to take the helm untainted by any residual negative feelings toward his or her predecessor.

McShane consultants have assumed interim management roles in numerous crisis situations and are familiar with the responsibilities this required.  We have successfully guided troubled businesses outside of bankruptcy using a McShane consultant as a chief executive or restructuring officer, or within formal reorganization forums as an operating Receiver in state court or Trustee in Chapter 11.
