James C. Ebbert, CTP
Managing Director

Having joined McShane Group in 2002, Jim brings with him over 30 years of diversified business experience. From 1990 to 1998 he consulted in crisis management, turnarounds and workouts, overseeing the business operations and financial restructuring of companies facing cash shortages and operational challenges. In October 1998 Jim began a three-year engagement as Assistant to the CEO of Camden National Corporation, a $1 billion bank holding company, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, long term strategic planning and assisting in the day to day executive management of the company.

As a consultant and turnaround professional, Jim developed an expertise in restructuring secured and unsecured debt while overseeing fundamental changes in the business operations of his clients. Having significant experience with family owned enterprises and their inherent succession issues, he has advised a wide range of manufacturing and service companies, both in and out of bankruptcy. Engagements have included the turnaround of a $15 million sawmill operation, the valuation and sale of a $30 million conveyor systems manufacturer, the restructuring for sale of a $100 million provider of construction and maintenance services to the chemical, utility and energy industries, and the restructuring at an $18 million manufacturer of pre-fabricated shelters for the telecommunications industry.

Jim received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Bucknell University and his MBA in Finance, with distinction, from Cornell University. He received his CTP designation In 1995 (relinquished upon his acceptance of the banking position in late 1998). Jim is a past director of the Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals and a past co-president of the Baltimore Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. In addition to serving as a director of a privately held sawmill, he is also a director and treasurer of the Camden Technology Conference and Maine Grand Opera Company, both in Camden, Maine.
