Nat Hamner has over twenty years of experience addressing strategic financial, market and planning issues to include acquisitions, refinance, budgeting, marketing strategy, sales planning, systems and operations performance.
Nat was both CEO and CFO of a consumer product manufacturer with over 200 employees in facilities on both east and west coasts. In this seasonal consumer durable goods manufacturing turnaround, Hamner developed a consistent profit performance in 16 months with new product developments; new channels of distribution; enhanced product quality; marked productivity improvements; supply chain improvements, standard cost corrections, all of which provided opportunity for a multi-tier marketing strategy to achieve higher margin sales.Hamner also has consulted Virginia businesses on strategic, marketing, M&A, financial and accounting issues at Richmond Consulting Group. Select projects include CFO for re-organization of a start up CAD software developer preparing for second round Angel financing; a start-up industrial manufacturer; a real estate developer; a computer reseller to the government; a mature consumer product company; a domestic sportswear producer; residential contractors, and a window manufacturer. Hamner’s first decade of experience was with two large public companies. Practical experience included Corporate Development, Finance, Planning, and Sales Training for Owens & Minor during growth periods before it became the largest medical-surgical supplier in America. Nat began his career as a Marketing and Sales Director with the Credit Card Division of American Express in New York, when Amex was a premier financial service brand. Hamner has advised companies in start-up stage, growth mode, mature and post mature stages. He believes that attention to details and disciplined analysis are vital ingredients of the risk analysis that support strategic deductions. Nat Hamner received his MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and his BS from William and Mary in Bio-Chemistry. Nat has been a member of the American Marketing Association, the board of the Business Workout Council, and the Business Finance & Turnaround Association. |
